Areas of particular interest
Sports Injuries
During the last 9 years Nicola has helped top performers in the world of dressage, rugby & football, as well as musicians and dancers. She is particularly interested in the body mechanics, and in helping to restore correct alignment of the spine and limbs.

Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI)
Modern lifestyles contribute to the development of RSI. Sedentary jobs such as secretarial work to active jobs such as manual work and intensive sports can lead to repetitive movements causing tendon and ligament injuries with back and neck problems, tiredness, headaches, joint pain and eye strain as side-effects. By looking at the body holistically an osteopath, as well as effectively treating such symptoms can help prevent long term damage and health problems resulting.
Poor Posture
Incorrect posture creates aches and pains and leaves the body more prone to injury, wear and tear. This may start as a normal backache, or a joint or muscular strain that never seems to quite ease. Simple jobs seem more difficult to do, such as gardening or housework, leaving you with no energy to do what you enjoy.
Osteopathy can both highlight and reduce these postural problems. Nicola treats both safely and gently, and in many cases leaves the patient with reduced pain and more energy. She will also advise on how to improve posture in order to prevent further problems with the help of exercise.

Headaches & Migraine
The causes of headaches and migraines are varied, and can be aggravated by many daily factors such as neck and postural problems, stress, food sensitivity, dehydration, computer work, old injuries, jaw problems, even problems from birth.
Nicola uses both osteopathy and cranial osteopathy to benefit headache sufferers. She will give advice on how to prevent the recurrence of headaches, by helping the patient to recognise the warning signs and take preventative action.
